8 July 1887 — Mayence | |
Friday. 8th [July 1887]. Left Mayence by 9 o’cl steamer a fast one to Cologne. Fine day but not much sun. We dined at table d’hôte on board which luckily did not come off until after we left Bonn so that we saw all the finest part of the scenery first. We reached Cologne abt 5. Went to Disch’s hotel. Rest & unpacked. The girls had tea in their room. Henry & I went down to dinner. Patience. | |
