12 July 1887 — 1 Queen Anne Street | |
Tuesday. 12th July [1887]. Breakfasted at 9. Wrote letters & lunched at 1. Henry went out directly after. Sir Fred Burton came to see me, also Eda Rate. As she said her mother was leaving town at 4 I drove home with her to see her & sat & had a little talk. I thence went in a hansom to Hatton Gardens about my travelling bag being put in order then back to Langham House to see Mama. At 5 home & had tea with Henry. Morelli came in & we sat talking. At 6 I went round to Blanche for an hour & had a quiet talk with her. Then home to rest ½ hour before dinner. Maria & Nela came up to my room & sat talking. We dined at 7.30 & then I went to Langham House to spend the eveng with Mama. Found she had not dined tho’ it was just 9 & sat with her. She showed me old packs of cards in the eveng & I returned home at 11. | |
