14 July 1887 — 1 Queen Anne Street | |
Thursday. 14th July [1887]. Called at 7. Breakfast at 9. Wrote letters. Maria & Nela came in the morng to see me. Fred Layard came to lunch & also my sister Connie. We had a vague project for going in search of a piano for me to buy but we gave it up & she & I sat chatting until 4 when we walked up Harley Street & paid a visit to Mrs Kendall the actress who was charming & very pretty & has a very nice house. As it was her day we found a great many people there & did not stay long. I left Connie in Cavendish Square & came home to tea & then I took Morelli to see Mamma– Dined Henry, Morelli & I quietly at 8 & went early to bed– | |
