18 July 1887 — 1 Queen Anne Street | |
Monday. 18th July [1887]. Wrote letters &c. Ola came at 11 & we went out shopping together & only returned for lunch. Mildred Guest came to lunch. Fred Layard came after lunch & at 2.30 the Bishop of Gibraltar came to talk over the Venice chaplaincy. At 3 I went to see Blanche & Mama & came home at 4 & dressed to go to dine with the Murrays at Newstead Wimbledon. We started at 5 in a brougham & took Morelli with us. We found Alice & Hallam staying there. We had tea & sat in the verandah till dinner time. Sir Montague & Lady McMurdo dined there. At 10 we started home & got in at 11. | |
