23 November 1887 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Wednesday. 23rd November [1887]. Modelled. After lunch Henry & I went for a walk in Piazza. The band was playing & we walked about. Met Lady & Miss Trevelyan who told us that the rest of the party wd leave England to come here next Monday—so we thought we would telegraph to invite Ola Du Cane to come & this we did. I went to the Hotel de Rome to call on an American lady Miss Witherell whose cousin Miss Ames is ill to offer them help. She said she wd let me know. Henry went to see Mrs Bronson—& I called for him & we went home. Later Mrs Bronson came to see me bring a Mr Whitehouse with her to call.
