21 January 1888 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Saturday. 21st [January 1888]. Had a visit from Ct Ligno & his pretty daughter & they remained to lunch. They came in for the day from Padua. In afternoon I went to see Mrs Brown & had a long talk with her about our plan—but we neither of us could make out what were the chances. Cortelazzo arrived to stay with us. We went in the eveng to a party at Mme Mimauts which was not very lively. There was music & Audrey Trevelyan sang. Raymond left us there & went on board the Trieste steamer to go to Fiume to stay with Css Hoyos.
