17 February 1888 — Naples | |
Friday. 17th [February 1888]. I remained in all morning. Henry & Ola went to the Museum. They returned at 1 to lunch & to our astonishment in walked Mrs Eden. She & Mr E. & Mrs & Miss Bronson are at the Grand Hotel waiting for fine weather to go to Sicily. Carry lunched with us & then I took a walk with her & shopped. She returned to her hotel & I to mine. Went to the table d’hôte at the Grand Hotel & dined with the Edens at separate table in the Restaurant. Edith Bronson also there but her mother laid up with headache. We could not get a cab & had to walk down in the rain & got very late for dinner. | |
