10 March 1888 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Saturday. 10th [March 1888]. A wet day & I did not go out. Today the Cn Prince & Pss (Emperor Frederick & Empress) leave San Remo for Berlin. Our thoughts are with them following them stage by stage. Wrote letters. Practised guitar in Henry’s room. Visit from Mr Brown also from Mr Jameson. Tea in the studio. Arranged & tore up letters. Dinner at 7.30. Patience. Ola going on very well. Early this morng I received a registered letter from Ct Seckendorff asking me to pay 2 bills here for the Cn Princess– It was written on Wedy before the old Emperor’s death—but he begs me to send receipts to Berlin as they intended returning to Berlin.
