18 March 1888 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Sunday. 18th March [1888]. I went to the morning service. Sat with Ola afternoon. Visits from Css Albrizzi & Mme Gerlach—also from Lieut. Troya & Mme Stefani. The latter announced her daughter’s engagement to a Mr Beresford officer of P.O. & that she was abt to turn Protestant. Lady Galway dined with us & afterwards I went with her to Countess Marcello’s. There were not many people as there was a party at Pss Metternich’s. Home abt 11. Ola was up for an hour. | |
