19 March 1888 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Monday. 19th [March 1888]. Ola got up for a while & came into my studio. Ersilia Canevaro came to lunch and afterwards we went together to see Mme Bisozzi & found her at home & then we called for Maria Cozzi & they took me to the Piazza where I joined Henry & we went to the Edens’ garden & brought home some spring flowers. Sir Alfred, Lady & Pauline Trevelyan dined with us also Mme & Idita Hurtado, the fiancé Bentivoglio, Mr Woods RA & Mr Bartlett. We had music in the evening. Mr Hitchens who came from Mentone & called at tea time came also to dine with us. I had a bad acct of the Emperor of Germany from Seckendorff. | |
