10 April 1888 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Tuesday. 10th April [1888]. Lord Selborne & Lady Sophia, Sir Arthur & Mr Gordon left for Milan at 9 this morning so we all breakfasted at 8. Busy morning packing & arranging things. Ola came down to lunch for the first time since her illness. Mr Marzials came to call & we made him stay to luncheon & he sang to Annie Murray’s accompaniment. I left him singing & Henry & I went out in gondola together. I went to see Ersilia & found her at home. Then we went to the Brandolins & found her & Mme d’Adda at home & I went on to see Olga Mocenigo & there met Idita & I stayed some time. The Bishop, Mrs Sandford & Mr Malcolm dined with us.
