11 April 1888 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Wednesday. 11th [April 1888]. There was a meeting at our house at 10 this morning to settle the affairs of the chaplaincy. There were present the Bishop, Mr Malcolm, Canon Scarth, Mr Jameson & Mr Brown & I was asked in. Two church wardens Henry & Mr DuGué were named & 2 sidesmen, Mr Malcolm & Mr Brown. Mr Jameson was appointed chaplain as soon as Canon Scarth resigns & the chaplaincy was put into the hands of the Bishop & withdrawn from those of the SPG. It was not over till 12 o’clock. Henry & I went out in afternoon to see Mme de Hurtado who is laid up with bronchitis & we brought back Idita to see Ola. Henry took the Murrays to the theatre. I & Ola went to bed very early.
