18 April 1888 — Paris | |
Wednesday. 18th [April 1888]. Alice came from her hotel Radstadt Rue Dannon & we walked to Michaud’s together & I returned to lunch. Dacre came & took out Ola for a drive. I went for a walk in the Palais Royal with Henry. Mr & Mrs Francis Elliot of the Embassy called on us. Henry & I dined at the Embassy with our good friend the Lyttons. Met Lord Molyneux & Mr Atlee & Lady Lathom. Lord Lytton thinks that the Emperor is dying. It is very terrible. Paris is in state of excitement about Boulanger who takes his seat in the Chambers tomorrow & rows are expected. | |
