Monday. 7th [May 1888]. Sir Wm & Lady Gregory who have just returned from Rome came to lunch. Mr Woods R.A. also came. In the middle of lunch Kate arrived with her girl Eda & I drove them out afterwards. Mrs A. Bagot & her son came after lunch & I had to get the lunch brought back for them. I had to leave Eda at the dress makers & drove first with Kate—& then left Kate there & drove with Eda. I went to have tea with Ola & walked to 30 Portland Place to see Lady Sophia Palmer & sat an hour with her. We dined with Mrs Burr & met Ld & Lady A. Russell, Lady Lyttleton & her girl, Raymond Layard, Mrs Lewis, Mr Mowbray, Mr Mount &c. | |
