23 August 1888 — Molde
Thursday. 23rd [August 1888]. While Henry had his hair cut I took a walk with Leo & Raymond. At 12 V. C. Dahl called with 2 carriages to take us for a drive. We drove along the shore under a fine avenue & saw some nice villas belonging to Norwegians. Drove back to Molde & to Mr Dahls country house just outside the town where his mother, father & brother Professor Dahl received us. The old lady showed us round her garden beautifully kept & her own creation of wh she is justly proud. We had also refreshments strawberrys, currants, cakes & champagne & then we drove back to the hotel. Had lunch at 2. Rayd took me for a row in a leaky boat. Dined at 4. Patience & early to bed.
