4 September 1888 — Brightwell House, nr. Wallingford, Berkshire | |
Tuesday. 4th [September 1888]. Arranged with Maria to take the girls Nela & Ola back to Venice with us when we start on 25th. Richard went up to town by early train. Henry & I came up by 1.15 train & we got to Queen Anne St at 6. Richard & my mother dined with us. She had arrived in town from Scotland this morng having left Braulen where she had been staying with the Wimbornes yesterday at 1. She had travelled all night & arrived at 8 this morng. She had been going about London all day & was not a bit tired. At 75 she is a marvel of strength. | |
