Monday. 24th [September 1888]. Sir John Savile came to call– He told us he had taken the title of Lord Savile. Emilia Riaño, Maria, Nela & I took a walk to shop & were caught in a shower. In the street met Leilah Bagot & Mr Newdigate & took leave of them. They are to be married next month. Emilia Riaño left us after lunch & went to stay with some friends in the country & in a fortnight will return to her husband & son at Madrid. Ola came to lunch with us. Mme de Robillant called on me late & found me. She said she was hardly yet settled down & would bring out her girl next season. Maria, Richard, Nela, Alice, Hallam & Mama dined with us. | |
