17 October 1888 — La Punta, Longarone
Wednesday. 17th October [1888]. Another splendid day & Mr Malcolm proposed a trip to Belluno on a raft. Mr Du Gué, Ola, Nela & I went with him. We started at 10—a splendid day & quite warm in the sunshine. We took abt 3 hours getting to Belluno & there found Mr Malcolm’s carriage waiting for us & it brought us home to La Punta but first we went to the Albergo & had a capital luncheon of tordi—then to a café to have our coffee. We only took 1½ hour to drive back. Had tea & read aloud to the girls. Dined at 7. Henry, the DuGué’s & Malcolm played whist in the evening, the girls & I packed our things for tomorrow’s start.
