Wednesday. 31st [October 1888]. Mrs Burr came to tea & brought with her Col. & Mrs Goff & Mr Norman. Mr Jameson also came. Henry & I dined with the Edens to meet Mr & Mrs George Howe (US) & Mr & Mrs Batten. The latter sang in the evening very charmingly. She is a handsome rollicky sort of woman. Not very distingué & a great flirt but a very clever musician & with a pretty round small voice. | |
