20 November 1888 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Tuesday. 20th [November 1888]. Such a thick fog that I could not paint—so I worked & copied Disraeli’s letters to Mr & Mrs Austen, Henry’s Uncle & Aunt, which are most interesting. I am copying them into a book. The girls went out walking with Henry after lunch. I remained at home. Had a visit from Baron Warsberg. I dined with the Edens who were quite alone. Edith Bronson came in the evening & we played guitar duetts together. Henry took the girls to the Opera Puritani. Got a letter from Mrs Ross from Florence saying she had found us a servant to replace Luigi who is leaving.
