9 December 1888 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Sunday. 9th December [1888]. Up to tea 7.30. Did not go to church. Tidied studio & wrote letters till lunch resting on divan in studio. In the middle of the day a thick fog came on & the beautiful day became spoilt & it got very cold—so I returned to the studio & wrote more letters & read. Ola went to church at 3.30 & afterwards paid Mrs Brown a visit. Nela helped Henry to clear out drawers in his room & then had tea with me. Dined alone– Bed early. | |
