14 January 1889 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Monday. 14th [January 1889]. Usual busy morning giving out stores &c. Wrote a lot of letters. Very cold day & threatened snow. Henry took the girls out. I walked to Miss Fearon’s & had tea with her & Mr Jameson & met Bss Vietinghoff. The gondola fetched me home. We had our usual reception & danced & had a very large number of people—dancing till 2 o’cl. | |
