25 January 1889 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Friday. 25th January [1889]. Ola sat to me in the morning. We had a telegram from Tirendelli to say that he could not come to play in the Trios this evening so after lunch Henry & I went round leaving notice that there were no trios tonight—instead of it we had a guitar practise. Our band consist of 3 mandolins Dss della Grazia, Bianca Lucchese Palli & Mr Pen Browning—Edith Bronson, Maria Lucchese Palli & myself the 3 guitars. The Princess of Montenegro came with her daughter & Mr Moore to look on. Marzials dined with us & was chef d’orchestra which he did admirably. We played till nearly 12.
