7 April 1889 — 1 Queen Anne Street
Sunday. 7th April [1889]. I wrote to Dr Fuller to come to see me. Went to church at Vere St & met Blanche & Edw coming out & walked home with them. Maria came to the door & went on walking with Blanche. I waited for Dr Fuller who came very soon & took an alarming view of my ailment & wished for a consultation & suggested calling Dr Thomas Smith Sr surgeon of St Bartholomew Hospital to wh I acceded. Of course Fuller knows best but I do not feel as alarmed as perhaps I ought to be. After lunch Henry went out to pay some visits. I went in to see Blanche & tell her what Fuller said & then walked with Edward down Green Park to Grosvr Place to call on Evey Stanhope & found her alone & had a nice chat over old times & old friends with her. After tea I went in a hansom to Claverton St to see Lady Dickson who has been ill all the winter. The Genl came in before I left & he walked with me to Claverton Terrace to call on Mrs W. Hanson. She was gone to church but we saw her boy & girl. I came home in a hansom tired out. Dined quietly alone with Henry. Patience.
