11 June 1889 — Motcombe House, nr. Shaftesbury, Dorset | |
Tuesday. 11th June [1889]. Better & up & we went off to stay at Canford. Found a very small party Sir George & Lady Russell & a Mr who came down to speak at a Primrose League party tomorrow. At Blandford we saw Luff at the station; he is much troubled in his mind how to get out of having to receive as Mayor of Blandford Mr Gladstone who is starring in the Provinces making speeches. | |
