8 August 1889 — Landeck | |
Thursday. 8th August [1889]. Had a vetturino & left abt 7 to drive over the Finstermuntz to Spondinig. A lovely day & beautiful drive & with our 3 horses we went along very well. We stopped to lunch at the top of the Finstermuntz—met a good many English parties there. Lunched under shelter by the road side. I was not well & went to lie down in the hotel—very clean & nice. We drove on after lunch & I got all right. We got to Schluderns a little before 8 & stopped at the door of the hotel where Mrs Brown & her son Horatio are staying. They came down to the door to see us & promised to come to Spondinig tomorrow to see us. We found our rooms ready– Had some dinner & went early to bed. | |
