9 August 1889 — Spondinig | |
Friday. 9th [August 1889]. All except I got up early & went off up the Stelvio. I rested in bed till 10. A fine thunderstorm came on but did not last. It was hot & pleasant. After lunch I took a walk & picked Barbary currants wh grow in graceful bushes all about & I got a very pretty bouquet. Mr Brown arrived at 5 & we had a talk over Venice Church & other matters. The others soon returned from their trip & we had tea in our bedroom. Mr Brown remained to dinner & walked back to Schluderns after. Lovely moonlit night & very fine. | |
