5 September 1889 — Torre Pellice | |
Thursday. 5th September [1889]. We left Torre Pellice by 9.15 train after an affectionate farewell from M. & Mme & the Mlles Durand of the Ours a very good family. Mlle Elise the eldest girl pretty & obliging had waited table on us. We shook hands all round & walked to the station where M. Meille was waiting to see us off. Reached Turin abt 11 & took a little walk while lunch was preparing & left Annie to take care of the luggage. After lunch Henry & I walked to the Castello & came back to start by 2.15 train for Milan where we arrived just in time for 6 o’cl table d’hôte. Annie went on by 11 train to Venice. Patience. | |
