Wednesday. 11th September [1889]. Hot—& did not go out– In the afternoon had the pleasant surprise of a visit from Mr Cartwright who is staying at the Grand Hotel. Mr Woods also called & then Idita Bentivoglio & her husband. I went out to hear the music under the giardinetto after dinner. | |
