Sunday. 6th October [1889]. I took Annie Carter our cook who acts maid to church with me in the morning where old Mr Tottenham officiated & then went on to Sir Domenic Colnaghi. Henry & the girls joined me & we lunched there. Lady C & the girls are still in England. Read aloud some of Ruskin’s descriptions of Florence. | |
