30 October 1889 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Wednesday. 30th October [1889]. The storm continued all night & all this morning till lunch time with torrents of rain so that I could scarcely see to continue my Vescovana sketch at which I worked all the morning. While we were at lunch Mrs Eden came in to pay us a visit. It rained hard all the afternoon & we could not stir out. Played guitar with Ola & read aloud to Henry. Dined at 7 & Henry & I went to see Una baruffe in famiglia by Gallina at the Goldoni acted by Prevato & his wife & Borisio—everybody acted capitally. It was most amusing.
