31 October 1889 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Thursday. 31st October [1889]. Miserable dark & wet weather. Modelled at Ola’s bust & wrote letters. After lunch the girls went to the Lido to walk with Annie as it held up a little. I went in gondola with Henry in search of chairs for our dining room our present ones been worn out. We went to Carress’ shop, Richetti’s & Rietti. It came on to rain while we were at Richetti’s (opposite) & we had to send for the felse on the gondola– The girls also got caught in the rain. Henry & I had tea in my studio & then I read aloud to him & finished the first vol of Symond’s Gozzi. Dined at 7.30– Sang with Eda & played guitar in the evening. | |
