2 November 1889 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Saturday. 2nd November [1889]. Breakfasted in bed & wrote letters– Painted both before & after lunch– Dark wet weather. Henry took the girls out. Visit from the Vt & Vss de Soberal & their daughter. They sat talking some time. Read aloud. Dinner party, M & Mme Jacques Blumenthal & Mrs O’Connell, Mr Jameson, Mr H. Brown, Mr Woods & Mr R. Curtis– Used our new dining room chairs– The Blumenthals left early & we sang chorus when the great composer had gone. | |
