6 December 1889 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Friday. 6th [December 1889]. Nursed my cold in bed till 11 & then played a guitar duet with Katie. At 12.30 Edith Bronson came to practise guitar duets with me. The girls went to Css Olga Mocenigo & she took them to see the Morosini Gattenburg palace which is to be sold—the Govt having bought the contents of the museum– We lunched at 2 but the girls came later & when Mrs Eden came she found us at lunch. She starts this evening for London. Played guitar & mandolin duets with Ola for an hour– Read aloud to Henry. It is very cold & dull weather & everywhere are tiers of deep snow. Mr Malcolm dined with us.
