21 December 1889 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Saturday. 21st [December 1889]. Weather a little overcast. Worked all morning at costumes. Went out with Henry in gondola. Called on Mr Malcolm who is better but does not go out– Took a turn on the Zattere & returned to tea & more work. Mr Jameson spent the afternoon in putting up the stage with the aid of John. Mr Woods also came—& the girls tried on their costumes to show him. Read aloud to Henry in my bedroom before dinner. Played guitar in evening with Nela & Eda’s mandolines. | |
