31 December 1889 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Tuesday. 31st December [1889]. Began to model a medal with Henry’s portrait in wax while Ola read aloud to me an art: in the Quarterly on Ward & the Oxford movement. Henry had a church meeting Mr Brown & Malcolm present. Mr Jameson prevented coming by having young Mr Rock in his hands who is suddenly gone out of his mind & tried to destroy himself. Eda & Nela went to choir practise. Went out in gondola with Henry & left cards & went in to see Mr Eden. M & Mme Castellani came to tea– Read aloud to Henry before dinner. In evening played guitar to Ola & Eda’s mandolins. | |
