1 January 1890 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Wednesday. 1st January [1890]. Modelled while Ola read aloud & finished article. Very wet day. Went out in gondola to call on Mrs Brown who was at home & then to Css Giulia Persico’s. Mr Moore, José Canevaro & Mr Woods came to tea. Cini came to see Ola & prescribed quinine for her daily face aches. Had very little time for reading to Henry as they dined at 7 to go to the opera. I went to dine with Mr Eden who is all alone till Carry returns on 5th. Pleasant evening, home at 10. | |
