9 January 1890 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Thursday. 9th [January 1890]. Edith Bronson came to play guitar duets with me & stayed to luncheon– The 3 nieces walked out. Edith went with Henry & me in gondola. I went to see Mrs Eden who was still in bed—& looking ill but has only a slight attack of influenza– Their old cook Susanne is very ill with it. Paid visits. Tide very low– Home to tea. Read aloud to Henry. Dined 7.30. Nela not very well & went to bed before dinner. Played guitar & mandoline trios in evening. | |
