28 February 1890 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Friday. 28th February [1890]. Cortelazzos Alievo came from Vicenza to bring me an egg cup which we sent as a present to the Edens for their silver wedding. Henry was better this morning & when Cini came finding his temp: normal he was inclined to let him get up but finally decided against it as he said it was such a bitter cold day– In the afternoon a little fever came on (38.4) & I was glad he had not moved. Carry & Edith Bronson came in the afternoon—also the Dss della Grazia & her girl & Ersilia Canevaro & her sister. Olga Mocenigo also came in the morng. Towards eveng the fever went down. I read aloud before & after dinner to Henry & dined in his room & we went to bed soon after 10–
