13 March 1890 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Thursday. 13th [March 1890]. Helped Eda to get on with my tea gown wh took us nearly all the morning. We hear Mr Malcolm is ill in bed again with influenza. After lunch Henry & I went to the station to meet Css Pisani & Lotta Symonds but they did not arrive. We went to walk on the Zattere & then Henry went home & I went to tea on the Cathay with Capt. Symonds. The 3 girls joined me. Met Mrs Martin an Australian wife of the 1st officer a nice little woman. Lord & Lady Eustace Cecil who are here for a few days & Mr Brown dined with us and we had the Trios in the eveng. Not many people came as there was a charity ball going on– The Edens, Montenegros, Css Olga Mocenigo & Mr Curtis came. | |
