14 March 1890 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Friday. 14th [March 1890]. Lovely spring weather. Painted fan sketch in the morning. After lunch went with Henry & Nola in the gondola to the station to meet Css Pisani who never came so we went to Mr Eden’s garden & found him just arriving there with Edith Bronson in the steam launch– They had tea there for the first time this year & it was beautifully warm in a sheltered spot where we sat. Home at 5. Visit from Dss della Grazia & her girl. Wrote letters. Dined at 7. Henry took the girls to see Faust. I had a quiet evening writing & studying guitar. | |
