1 April 1890 — Paris
Tuesday. 1st April [1890]. Henry still very unwell– I stayed indoors all the morning & when Maria came just before luncheon got her to ask Dr Prendergast to come to prescribe for Henry. At 3 I went out walking with Maria & shopped—on our return we found Mrs Dyer & Stella calling on Henry & they were joined by Mr Dyer. Henry had had visits from Lord Lytton & Mr Atlee. Prendergast alarmed Henry abt himself saying his lungs & heart were affected—& frightened me terribly so that I felt he ought not to travel tomorrow. However we have settled to cross to London & must go now.
