22 April 1890 — 1 Queen Anne Street
Tuesday. 22nd [April 1890]. Very headachey– Up late. Maria came to drive with me. Henry lunched with the Rates. Maria dropped me at Mrs Prattens where I had a guitar lesson—& she fetched Henry & they called for me– She & I went on leaving cards & then went to see old Mr Thompson Hankey who received us. There came in 2 other ladies so we left him & returned to tea at home. I rested for an hour before dinner. Mr Alfred Burton, Blanche & Edward, Henry’s nephew Arthur Layard & Dora Du Cane dined with us & we all played & sang in the evening.
