2 July 1890 — 1 Queen Anne Street
Wednesday. 2nd July [1890]. Merthyr went down to Peterborough to a puppy show. I woke with a headache & remained all day in bed. Mrs Ball came to see me at 12—the first visit she has paid since Mr B’s death. Then Sophy Palmer came & sat with me & lunched with Henry. I got a little better towards evening & got on sofa– Blanche came to see me & to tea. Mama would like to go to the eveng party at the R.A. & as I had a ticket to spare I arranged that she should go in our carriage with Ola & Ruth. Merthyr came home at 6 & came & sat with me & then went to dine with Mama. Ola dined in my room & went off early with Mama. Henry had a mans dinner party in honor of Mr Dupuy the V. President of the Huguenot American Society—& had Frederick Layard, Mr Beaufort, Mr Schoppie, Louis Du Cane, Mr Faber.
