He has just returned from Ceylon where he has been Govr & is going with his daughter to live at his place near Ascot– Miss Emily Maxwell came to see me & remained to luncheon– Annie came up to take a last farewell. I drove out with Henry. Went to call on Watts but he was out. Called on Lady Eastlake & had tea with her & then home. Sat with Henry in the morng room till dinner. He dined with Mrs Burr. Mama & Nelly Alderson dined with us so with Ola & Eda we were a large party. I played & sang to the guitar in evening. | |
