13 July 1890 — 1 Queen Anne Street
Sunday. 13th [July 1890]. Got up by 12. Henry & I lunched alone & the girls went out. I made designs for Blanche. Maria came to me & Daisy & Dacre Du Cane the latter being over for the day from Paris. Ivor came to see us & said he was going off soon to Switzerland with 2 of his girls & Mr Clark. After tea visits from Sir Henry Thompson & Sir Charles Newton– Latter very feeble but pleasant & talkative. Then Charlie Eliot came. Elizabeth Bertie came to see me before lunch– When all had gone it was nearly 7 so I went out just to Cavendish Square to see Blanche. Found her just going to church so walked a little way with her & then to 30 Portland Place to call on Sophy but she was out so I came home. Dressed for dinner. Edgar & his wife & Leo Layard dined with us. Patience.
