19 July 1890 — Clifton, Bristol
Saturday. 19th July [1890]. Breakfasted with Henry at 8.30. He went off to Bristol before 10 & I dressed & went out for a walk on to the suspension bridge & round the town a little way. Read—practised the guitar. Lunched at 1.30, practised again & read until 4 when I got ready to leave & Rina & I drove down to Bristol station to meet Henry & we left by the 5 oclock train to stay at Motcombe. We had to change trains at Mangotsfield—& also at Bath where I got some tea. Then again at Templecombe & reached Gillingham a little before 8 where the carriage met us. Dined after 8 with Merthyr & Theo, Lady Westr having retired to rest. Showery day cleared toward night.
