28 July 1890 — 1 Queen Anne Street | |
Monday. 28th July [1890]. Got up late in the morning. Marquis Maffei came to lunch with us. He is now Italian Ambassador at Madrid & on leave in England for a short time. I was delighted to see him again as he is an old friend of ours. I drove out with my sister Blanche in afternoon—& we got out of the carriage in Oxford St and walked home– Mama, Edward, Blanche, Maria & Richard & Louis dined with us. Mandola & guitar trios in eveng. | |
