9 August 1890 — 1 Queen Anne Street
Saturday. 9th August [1890]. Henry better again. I was up several times in the night & gave him beef tea. He got up for lunch & came into my bedroom & lay there. Sir H. T. & Mr H. came abt 3, found he had fever & ordered quinine. He was very faint twice in the afternoon & went back to bed at 5 after his tea. I & Ola went driving. London is curiously empty. Hardly a carriage in any of the squares—& very few in the Parks. Found Mme Hurtado & Idita there & stopped & spoke to them. Maria & Richard dined with Ola & me & we all sat with Henry afterwards till Mr Herring came. Henry began to complain of a pain in his chest & had a bad night. I was up several times. Frederick came & saw Henry. Aunt Mary rather better.
