I read aloud to him till dinner time. Mr, Mrs & Stella Dyer dined with us, Cortelazzo also. Morelli dined with the Empress. The 2 Princesses came in the evening also. Mrs Eden & her 3 nieces, the Curtis’ & Mrs Arkwright & her sister & cousin—Agostini & Trombini & we had some delightful music. Stella astonished every body & played with immense power & execution. Mrs Arkwright also sang to guitar & played the piano. Unfortunately she leaves Venice tomorrow. We had tea & it was 12 when we went to bed. Daisy did not come down but the Princesses went up to see her. The wind changed & it is a little cool & a splendid moonlit night—full moon. | |
